Imran Khan Arrest Sparks Nationwide Protests: PTI Calls for Mass Demonstrations in Pakistan

Former Pak PM Imran Khan Imprisonment News Updates: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, was arrested on Saturday following a three-year sentence in a corruption case. A district and sessions judge imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on Khan, stating that he would face an additional six months in jail if he failed to pay the fine. A video released on Khan's Twitter account before his arrest depicted him anticipating the arrest, referring to it as "one more step in the London plan".

The 70-year-old leader was apprehended by Islamabad police, in collaboration with the Punjab police, from his residence in Lahore, post the court's verdict. Meanwhile, Imran Khan's party, PTI, denounced the court's decision as 'biased' and pledged to challenge the arrest in the high court.

Khan's conviction in the Toshakhana case stemmed from a complaint filed last year by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which had previously disqualified him in the same case.
